Our client is a global insurance provider focused on delivering innovative solutions for multinational clients globally. Is looking to recruit a Compliance and Risk Officer to manage their strategic regulatory initiatives on behalf of the group.
Key responsibilities · Manage strategic projects for the risk management functions; the risk associated with establishing a new branch, recovery planning and operational resilience · Manage regulatory and compliance projects; such as managing the Senior Executive Accountability Regime (“SEAR”) · Liaise with external advisors on risk, regulatory and compliances topics and projects · Liaise with the first line, control functions and stakeholders, including compliance and group risk, on compliance and risk initiatives and projects · Advise the company on compliance matters for its cross-border business · Propose risk metrics and risk appetites to meet compliance and risk requirements · Enhance existing controls and work with the first line and other control functions to implement controls to meet new requirements · Support the Compliance Function in reviewing compliance policies and procedures · Conduct assurance reviews following the implementation of new requirements · Review the adequacy of controls and mitigating actions as required · Provide training and awareness sessions and ongoing support
Key skills and experience · At least five years’ experience in financial services and/or consulting environment · Experience delivering strategic initiatives and regulatory projects · Degree or professional qualification, preferably in risk management or compliance · Preferably experience across both risk management and compliance roles in an insurance company · Good knowledge of Solvency II requirements in relation to risk management and compliance preferred · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with commercial awareness. · Excellent report writing skills and attention to detail · Able to work on own initiative and feel comfortable presenting to senior management
